THE WHIMSICAL HAGGADAH (II)
– Kindling

The sound and flickering of a match followed by the lighting of two candles signals a special day (unless you live in Scandinavia where people light candles morning, noon, and night every day of the year). I like this visual countdown - 3-2-1- go! The blessing is chanted to a melody telling us that today is a Festival day.
We are gathered again like we were last year; there is a rhythm to our lives that makes us rooted, expressed in the lights while surrounded by family and friends.
